Balancing on Belafonte: A game for all ages.

Both Belafonte and Lavender let you do pretty much what you want to them and they won't as much batter an eye lid.

Like the Persian, the exotic shorthair, is pretty laid back. Ok, Belafonte doesn't like being picked up and will only endure the act for a minute or two before he tries wriggling his way out of it, but once released Belafonte just plops down on the floor, quite happy to repeat the process.

So the other day we played our Belafonte Balancing game. Objective; Place as many objects on Belafonte before he gets up.

As you can see, we ran out of objects before Belafonte had had enough. Whether he thinks this means we will buy him more toys to add to both his and our amusement, or if he just can't be bothered I'm not sure. Either way there were no winners on this game day except Belafonte.

Why We Love Orange is the New Black!

So over a three day period we started and finished the Netflix show 'Orange is the New Black'. I must admit I started watching under duress  but I'll be dammed, best show I seen in a while; and here's why:

EVEN THE SCENES WITH JASON BIGGS ARE BEARABLE

Does that sound a little mean? Oh well, and when I say bearable I mean quite good. Ok so I spent most of the first episode questioning why a pretty girl like Chapman would date Jason Biggs, but after a while it starts to make sense.

THE SUPPORTING CAST IS QUITE AMAZING

Crazy Eyes, Red, Nicky, and Mendez are perhaps my favorites, but the list could go on.

ACTUALLY TIFFANY IS MY FAVORITE

The religious nut is played brilliantly by Taryn Manning. So bad, but so much fun.

IT MAKES YOU THINK

The show tackles some interesting issues without getting too heavy. Though liberal, the show doesn't preach too much and nothing appears black and white. This isn't a gritty prison drama, it's entertainment with a brain.

EVERYTHING GETS REAL MESSY

Nothing is really straight forward in the world of OITNB. The characters screw up, screw around, and screw with each others' heads, in a way which is totally believable. Life is messy, relationships are messy and I feel this show captures that really well, without adding too much sentiment and melodrama to it.

THE WRITING IS AWESOME

This show just has so many great lines.

IT GAVE BIRTH TO A NEW MEASURE OF LOVE

In the future when someone asks how much you love them, tell them "I would throw pie for you." Nothing more needs to be said.

Top 5 Tumblers As Chosen by Belafonte

There is nothing more I like to do than sit down on a lazy afternoon with a couple of treats to nibble on and tumble away on the old inter web. Lavender, my dear friend and companion, finds peace in such activates; Poor Lavender, who is forced to communicate through a series of sneezes.

So I have taken the trouble to select five of my most enjoyable Tumbler’s featuring both my exotic and Persian peers. Oh how dear they are, a few quite fetching young felines that if I was younger cat and hadn’t had my balls so sanctimoniously removed, would be found to chasing on a wild Saturday night.

My first though is not a pretty young lass, but my old chum and once drinking partner Snow Bert. Old Bertie and I would often find ourselves grumbling over this tired old world, drunk on warm milk, on a Friday night.

A rather exotic Exotic Shorthair, Bert never fails to disappoint with his well chosen poses.  Oh Bertie you blue eyed fool, you make a dandy man out of me.

My second is the quite marvelous Sir Bainbridge, a cat of legend and myth, there will be books written about this one and they will all end in some heroic fashion no doubt.

With his panda like appearance and keen sense of adventure Sir Bainbridge is never far from danger laughing in its face. Sir Bainbridge we salute you.

Next is Blackberry, a name that lingers on my lips during those long cold nights.

Of course my heart still bleeds for my unrequited love, but she has moved on and I respect that, even though when I stumble on this tumble my heart fills with what ifs. Oh my pretty black pumpkin.

Follow my lost love and her new fella here

Spoon face killer, perhaps the most notorious of our five today. A cat, a killer, a extreme napper. God forgive the soul that meets this Persian on a dark night. Don’t let her cute and harmless expressions fool you, she will rip your eyes out and devour your tongue quicker than you can nibble your kibble.

Poor Lavender knows this only too well. The vets said she lost an eye, but she lost so much more. So much. Spoon face killer, a great tumbler, a deadly cat.

Follow him here.

The last is Chester Smooshy face. My nemeses. Look at him the dim witted clown, yes I called you a clown Mr. Chester Smooshy face!

I will not divulge the details of our feud, but it is enough to say, I was once a young confused cat and promises were made. Oh Mr Smooshy Face, I loved you, you bastard.

Well enough of that. Check back next week for my five favorite poos.

Belafonte answers fan mail!

Our moody little man decides to answer fan mail in his typical snarky fashion.

Note: Little Lavender is not deaf, blind or dumb...Belafonte is moody though.
